I know I say this every time, but it is amazing how much Kinsie has developed in just a month’s time. She has become a WILD CHILD! She has such a rambunctious personality and she is constantly moving and talking. This girl is so much fun to be around. Even strangers can’t help but smile at her little happy face! Now that we are finally having pretty consistent warm weather, she has gotten to do more than just play inside…like go to the zoo and go swimming in Grandma’s pool. She is definitely an outdoorsy girl and loves to look at and explore everything she possibly can. Ryan and I fall more in love with our girl every day and are having so much fun watching her grow.
At 8 months old…
- She already gets into everything.
- She loves playing peek-a-boo.
- She gets bored with a toy quickly and needs to move on to something else.
- She pivots and barrel rolls to get where she wants to go.
- She is in the process of learning to crawl…just hasn’t perfected the motion yet.
- She is very fiesty and will try to escape any type of confinement.
- She loves to swim in the pool and blow bubbles in the water.
- She is very quick at grabbing things, like her daddy’s glasses.
- She and her cousin Briggs love to read books together and laugh at each other.
- She and her cousin Kerigan like to grab each other’s toys, pacifiers, hands and toes.
- She is happy even when she is sick.
- She is obsessed with tags of any kind.
- She is still fascinated by animals.
- She LOVES being outside.
Loving her visit to the zoo
Our happy girl
Ryan is officially done with his first year of medical school and home for the summer! I could not be more proud of him. It is no easy task to be a med student, pass all of his classes, volunteer for multiple organizations, and drive back and forth from Muncie to Indy a couple times a week to be with his wife and daughter. Even being in med school, Ryan has not missed a beat as a husband and dad. He is always around for the big moments and we always make sure we spend quality time as a family while he is home. Like I’ve said before, I would not have chosen these circumstances of Ryan being away from us to go to school, but God’s plan is never wrong. These circumstances have brought so many blessings that we wouldn’t have if Ryan went to school in Indy. We have become stronger people both individually and as a married couple. We also feel so blessed that Ryan had such wonderful classmates that, in just a year’s time, have become lifelong friends for us.
I have always known that Ryan wanted to be a doctor, and I have always supported him 100%. I also knew it would be quite a long road for both of us for him to achieve his dream. The best way I can deal with our situation is to take it one step at a time. At this point in time, Ryan is halfway done with his time in Muncie. That is a huge step! We still have a long way to go until he becomes a doctor, and with that will come many more struggles and days/nights without him, but he is worth all of it. No matter what, Kinsie and I (and any other future kiddos that might come along the way) will be rooting him on every step of the way!
You have no idea how proud of you I am for everything you’ve accomplished so far. I have never met anyone with the determination and drive that you have, and I love that about you. You are setting such an amazing example for Kinsie on how to work hard to achieve your dreams, and that faith and family are still ultimately the most important things in life. This definitely isn’t the way I would have picked how we spent our first few years of our marriage, but I feel like this has made us stronger. Even though we’ve spent many days and nights away from each other, my love for you continues to grow every minute. You are an amazing husband and father, and Kinsie and I love you more than you know!
